Man shot outside Jerzees Sports Grille in Canton, suspect at large

A man was shot outside Jerzees Sports Grille on Fulton Road NW late Sunday night before re-entering the bar, where emergency responders found him injured, according to Canton police.

Officers were dispatched to the bar at 2531 Fulton Rd. NW around 10:15 p.m. on March 9 for reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers found the victim lying on the ground beside the bar.

A medical professional who was at the scene had already assessed the victim and contacted Mercy Hospital to prepare for his arrival, according to the police report. Officers observed a gunshot wound to the victim’s left collarbone but found no exit wound.

The victim, whose identity is being withheld, told police he did not know who shot him or who might have wanted to harm him. Medics transported him to the hospital for treatment.

Officers searched the parking lot and found blood near the victim’s vehicle but located no other evidence at the scene or inside the vehicle. No suspect information has been released, and police have not announced any arrests.
