A 65-year-old man was seriously injured Monday morning after being hit by a car while standing in the roadway at a Canton intersection.
The collision happened just before 6 a.m. at 12th Street and Market Avenue N, according to a crash report from the Canton Police Department. The man, who lives in the city’s northwest neighborhood, was struck by a 2013 Hyundai Accent driven by a 23-year-old Akron man.
Emergency responders transported the victim to the hospital, where he remained in serious condition Monday afternoon, police said.
It remains unclear who was at fault in the crash. The Canton Metro Crash Team is continuing its investigation.
The incident occurred under dark conditions, though police noted the intersection is illuminated.
