Police investigating shooting at Akron bar that killed 35-year-old man

An investigation is underway following the shooting death of a 35-year-old man early Sunday morning at a bar in Akron.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting shortly before 4 a.m. at an establishment located at 1306 Brittain Road. Upon arrival, police found the man deceased from apparent gunshot wounds.

The victim’s identity is being withheld pending further investigation.

According to preliminary reports, an altercation broke out inside the bar. During the incident, an unidentified male suspect fired multiple shots, striking the victim. It remains unclear whether the victim was the intended target. The suspect fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction.

Detectives are working to gather additional details and identify the suspect.
