The suspect accused of hitting 23-year-old Abby Vanest’s vehicle and killing her will face trial in May.

Stark County Common Pleas Judge Chyrssa Harnett scheduled Mario Lerario’s trial date to begin on the 17th of May – the date is subject to change if the defense or prosecution asks for a continuance.

Jackson Twp. Police say Lerario hit Abby’s vehicle at an excess of 95 MPH along Woodlawn Rd. Nov. 21, 2020.

He fled the scene after being picked up by Jessica Taylor, of Minerva. The two were arrested four months later by the US Marshals in Atlantic City, NJ.
