CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland Browns have signed guard Wyatt Teller to a four-year contract extension that will keep the offensive lineman in Cleveland through the 2025 season.
The deal is reportedly worth $56.8 million, at $14.2 million per year (making Teller the second-highest-paid guard in the NFL in terms of yearly average) and $28 million guaranteed. The lineman was slated to become a free agent after the 2021 season.
Teller was drafted by the Buffalo Bills in the 5th round of the 2018 NFL Draft and was acquired by the Browns via a trade with the Bills prior to the 2019 season. Teller quickly grew into one of the top linemen in football, earning second-team All-Pro honors in 2020.
Teller recently drew praise for a notable block on Browns running back Nick Chubb’s 70-yard touchdown run in Cleveland’s 41-16 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals.
Teller’s signing is the most recent among a particular core of young Browns players, including Cleveland defensive end Myles Garrett (five years, $120 million through 2026) and Chubb (three years, $36.6 million through 2024).
