New Philadelphia High School senior Owen Brady signed his national letter of intent to run cross country and track at Youngstown State University on Monday.

Brady is a two-time reigning qualifier for the Division I State Cross Country championships, and is a two-time reigning Tuscarawas County and East Central Ohio League track champion in the 1600m and 3200m events.

In his most recent trip to state, Brady finished 8th overall as an individual and set a school record with a 4:21.44 finish in the 1600m dash.

“Owen Brady represents the true definition of a scholar-athlete with numerous accolades inside and outside of the classroom,” New Philadelphia Athletic Director Tim Fortney said via a Monday press release. “He is an outstanding runner and an even better student. We wish him the best as he continues to pursue his academic and athletic goals at Youngstown State University.”
