A 62-year-old man will spend two years in prison for a hit-and-run into a vehicle transporting people with disabilities.

David Black, of Austintown, pleaded guilty in November to operating a vehicle under the influence and failure to stop after an accident. The conviction is Black’s 17th DUI.

The accident occurred in June of 2021 after he hit the vehicle and fled. The person driving the vehicle carrying the people with disabilities called the police and told them Black had fled the scene. The later located the truck in Black’s backyard.

Black was convicted of felony OVI convictions in 2009 and 2018. The other 14 OVI convictions date back to 1977.
