Amelia Spidell scattered five hits and stuck out seven in the victory while contributing an RBI double and a single at the plate.
Strasburg will now have two wins separating the program from their first state championship since 2013 and eighth in school history, which would tie North Canton Hoover High School for second-most in state history (behind Akron Springfield’s nine state titles). The Vikings are set to take on Austintown Fitch in a Saturday night Regional final at Youngstown State University.
The Tigers will play Region 16 champion Bradford High School in next Friday’s Division IV State semifinals at Akron’s Firestone stadium. Game time will be 10 a.m.
