Some headlines may leave you wondering if it’s true, or just clickbait. Miraculously, this one is 100% true, according to Brewster Police.

Over the last few days, the Brewster Police Department has received several calls of a Wallaby being observed on the lose within the Village and surrounding areas, according to Police Chief Nathan Taylor.

“We are asking residents if they see the animal to contact their local law enforcement agency,” Chief Taylor said. “We are also advising people to stay away from the animal and do not approach it.”

Chief Taylor said that Brewster Police have a professional team coming to assist in capturing the loose Wallaby and to relocate it to a safe environment.

“We ask people to refrain from looking for the animal or entering onto properties of another to attempt to locate the animal,” Chief Taylor noted.

If anyone has any information, please contact the Brewster Police Department at 330-830-4272.
