Three of the 12 juvenile inmates arrested in connection to the Indian River riots on Oct. 22 are accused of causing an incident at the state’s Circleville juvenile facility near Columbus.

According to a report from WBNS in Columbus, three juveniles involved in the riot at Indian River Correctional Facility in Massillon were involved in a similar incident at Circleville. Sources tell JMN that the youth from Indian River’s riot were moved to Circleville days after the incident.

Parents of the young inmates tell us that the juveniles were moved without informing parents of the plan to move them.

WBNS reports that five juveniles, three from Massillon, assaulted a corrections officer and took her keys, freeing four other juveniles over the weekend.

It is said to have happened on Saturday night at around 6:00pm.  No one was seriously injured and damage was minimal.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating Saturday’s incident.
