Man arrested in Robertsville on felonious assault warrant; officials dispel standoff rumors

Deputies from the Stark County Sheriff’s Office assisted the U.S. Marshals Task Force in executing an arrest warrant Tuesday in the 11000 block of Lincoln Street E., according to authorities.

Despite social media speculation suggesting a standoff, officials confirmed that the warrant was executed without incident. However, the suspect fell while walking out of the residence, prompting medics to respond for evaluation.

Ian Kmatz, 33, was taken into custody by the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) in the 11500 block of Lincoln Street SE. He was wanted by the Stark County Sheriff’s Office on charges of felonious assault and having weapons while under disability. Details regarding the charges were not immediately available.

Kmatz is currently being booked into the Stark County Jail.
