Canton police are investigating a suspected drive-by shooting that left multiple people reporting they were targeted Tuesday evening in northeast Canton.
Officers were dispatched around 6:18 p.m. to the area of 30th Street NE and Daleford Avenue NE after receiving multiple calls about shots fired. Dispatchers also advised that individuals believed they had been shot and were gathered at a Speedway gas station at 3315 Mahoning Road NE.
According to police reports obtained by Jordan Miller News, officers located multiple victims at the Speedway. Investigators determined the shooting occurred in the area of 30th Street NE and Fletcher Avenue NE, where several shell casings were recovered.
A nearby resident reported hearing a loud metallic noise outside her home, consistent with possible gunfire, and later found an object in front of her residence. She also provided video showing a gray Ford Fusion following a red vehicle associated with the victims. Police said no visible damage to the home was observed.
Another witness told officers they saw a vehicle traveling south on Fletcher Avenue while shots were being fired. Additional shell casings were located farther south near 29th Street NE.
Police said victims reported being chased by two vehicles — a gray sedan and a black SUV. One account described the gray sedan as being driven by a light-skinned Black male with a beard. The victims said they were in the area of Harmont Avenue NE during part of the incident, and officers located shell casings scattered across multiple locations.
All victims were transported to police headquarters for interviews. Officers searched at least one vehicle connected to the victims, but no weapons were found.
Police said it is not believed anyone was injured in the incident, and no arrests have been announced.
The investigation remains ongoing.
